Gustave Bernardel was the son and pupil of Augusté-Sébastien. He took over his father’s workshop with his brother, Ernest Augusté in 1860, and then partnered with Charles Eugéne Gand to form Gand & Bernardel Fréres. In 1892, after becoming the sole owner of the business, he continued working under his own name.

This stunning violin features a rich, powerful and melodious tone, even across all registers.
