Piotr Kulcenty - Head Restorer

Piotr graduated from the Academy of Music in Poznan, Poland, with a Masters degree in instrument making in 2014. He then worked for four years in Rome and in Switzerland for Atelier Claude Lebet as a violin maker and restorer. Piotr joined the workshop of Stringers London in February 2018.

Juno Sharrock - Junior Restorer

Juno graduated from West Dean College in 2024 with a BA in Craft Practices (Musical Instruments). With a background in early music, she has worked on a wide range of string instruments, as well as bows. Juno joined Stringers in 2024.

Philippe Briand - Restorer

Philippe graduated from the Newark School of Violin Making in 2006 and went on to make double basses for Thomas Martin near Oxford for two years, followed by five years restoration in London for Bridgewood and Neitzert. He then opened his own workshop in Canterbury in 2013, freelancing as a restorer and maker as well as working part-time for J&A Beares in London. He joined Stringers in 2024.

John Sydenham - Restorer

In 1979 John won ‘Young Engineer for Great Britain’ and later gained a degree in mechanical engineering. He then used his craftsman skills to produce Longcase clocks and Billiard cues. As a cellist and classical guitarist, he merged his interests, studying as a Luthier in London and the USA, subsequently working at Hamilton Caswell Violins in Bristol.
John has been working with Stringers since 2016.

Antonis Andreou - Restorer

After successfully completing his Violin Making and Restoration course at Merton College London, Antonis Andreou embarked on his career as a string instrument restorer at the oldest established violin dealers in London. Over the course of 13 years, he honed his skills, expanded his knowledge, and perfected his craftsmanship in the workshop. During his spare time, he actively collaborated with violin makers across Europe, further enhancing his expertise in making and restoration. Antonis joined Stringers in August 2024.
