The largest and most prominent of the renowned Mirecourt instrument-making firms, Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy (J.T.L.) traces its origins to 1857, when Jérôme Thibouville partnered with Charles Buthod and Charles-Claude Husson to establish the company Husson-Buthod-Thibouville. Following Thibouville’s marriage to Marguerite Hyacinthe Lamy in 1861, the firm adopted the name Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy, under which it would gain international recognition.
